Registration of course units

To attend a course, the corresponding course unit must be registered.

A registration is necessary so that:

  • the lecturers can plan and contact the students resp. doctoral students by e-mail.
  • the students resp. doctoral students can register for examinations.
  • the lecturers can award credits and grades.

A course unit consists of one or more courses that form a unit and for which a performance assessment is offered. Typically, these are lectures and excercises.

In principle a course unit must be registered for if students want to attend any of its courses.

In addition, the registration for a performance assessment is only possible if a registration exists for the respective course unit.

A course unit or course can only be registered once per semester.

Students with several matriculations (e.g. simultaneous Bachelor's and Master's matriculation) must therefore decide at the time of registration for which degree programme they require the result of the performance assessment. The registration must then be done in the respective degree programme.

For certain learning units restrictions on course registrations exist. For example, registrations are only possible during a certain period of time or by a certain target group.
